According to Mark Stucklin, head of Spanish Property Insight, 2012 will see Spanish property become more attractive to British buyers, largely as a result of the pound strengthening against the euro.
He added that the change will come after a number of years where the market was 'down in the dumps' and not going anywhere. However, now, the market could be set for stability and this may well entice British buyers.
Mr Stucklin said: "I think that 2012 is going to be a key year.
"With the best property, I think we are now in [a period of] price stability and, with the euro getting cheaper compared to the pound, that will mean that it gets more interesting for British buyers."
Spanish property website Kyero.com reported recently that the most popular properties enquired about in the second half of 2011 were apartments followed by villas and country houses.
